Eusebio Sacristán

Barça B manager, Eusebio, was pleased with the team’s win over Nástic de Tarragona (1-0), the third victory in a row, subsequently ending the bad string of results in the Mini Estadi for the Catalans. Eusebio added, “I feel as though the we deserved the result.”

Game, under control

“We controlled every aspect of the game and we did really well at maintaining possession,” said Eusebio. The coach did admit that his team lacked the determination to seek out the second goal, especially during the second half.  With Barça B failing to add a second to their tally, according to Eusebio, Nástic saw their chance to level the match, especially in the closing minutes of the game. Oier and Barça’s defence held strong, however, and Nástic’s final chances were frustrated.

Soriano returns

Besides the three points and the good display from Eusebio’s youngsters the other highlight of the match was Jonathan Soriano’s return. The striker, after being sidelined for three months due to a knee injury sustained while playing for the first team, was able to return fully fit.

Eusebio was very pleased to have Soriano, native of Pont de Vilomar, back in the squad. The manager is counting on the youngster to play an important role “from here until the end of the season. However, he needs to take it slowly until he feels he's 100% game ready.”
