Douglas, destined to succeed

Douglas, destined to succeed

The young star reminisces about his early days in Brazil
In the first part of his interview, the new Barcelona player talked about his beginnings in Goiás. He mentioned his upbringing since he was a kid living in a farm with his father and the difficulties they went through until he made it as a professional footballer.

Douglas is very grateful for everything he has achieved ever since, a journey that has now taken him to Barcelona, where Luis Enrique has been teaching him attacking and defending techniques that Douglas thinks will help him evolve as a player.

As for his position on the field, Douglas said that he started playing as a striker when he was a kid, only to be moved to the midfield up until he was 17, which is when he started playing as a winger, the position he considers his favourite and where he wants to establish himself as a footballer.

Finally, he had time to talk about his role models and acknowledged that the best thing for him is to learn a bit from each player, like Alves, Cafú or Maicon, and that this is the perfect way of improving while still being himself, and that is something he is very keen to show as a Barcelona player.
