CP Vic v FC Barcelona Lassa: End of the unbeaten run (6-4)

The blaugranas have suffered their first defeat of the season at the ground of the team in second place in the league but stay three points in front of them in first place

FC Barcelona Lassa have been defeated by CP Vic (6-4) in the 13th fixture of the OK League. The blaugranas were playing the team in second place away and wanted to extend their lead at the top of the table. However, Ferran Pujalte's team had other plans and they were in inspired form to end Barça's unbeaten run despite the away team's best efforts.

Crucial minute for the home side

The game was evenly matched at the start with both teams showing each other plenty of respect. However, Vic burst into life in a minute period in which they blew Barça away. In little over 60 seconds Martí Casas scored twice giving the home side a 2-0 lead.

The blaugranas tried to respond knowing there was lots of time left to overturn the deficit. However, they were pegged back once again from a clinical Vic side who took a 3-0 lead thanks to a Cristian Rodríguez goal in the 11th minute.

Barça Lassa responded with an Edu Lamas long range shot three minutes before the end of the first half. Things weren't going the away sides way and a minute later they commited their tenth foul of the match. This gave Martí Casas the chance to re-establish the three point gap with a free shot which he converted.

The second half started with all out Barça attack in an effort to stage a comeback. Pablo Álvarez was unable to convert a free shot due to a fantastic Gerard Camps save. However, Sergi Panadero was able to get one back and pull the blaugranas closer to the home side. This was short-lived as Martí Casas scored once again to make it 5-2.

The blaugranas respond

Barça didn't give up and kept looking to close the gap and they did so from a stunning Lucas Ordoñez goal. With twelve minutes left to play they started to believe in a potential comeback and Sergi Panadero scored once again to bring them within a single score at 5-4. The final moments of the game were very tense and both teams hit the post. Barça could have drawn the game through various good chances but couldn't quite find the finish.

Two minutes from the end Cristian Rodríguez put some daylight between the two teams and gave Vic a 6-4 victory. Barça fought hard throughout but were unable to avoid their first defeat of the season in the OK League. Their twelve game undefeated run, with eleven wins and one draw, also came to an end. However, Barça Lassa remain top with 34 points which is three more than today's opponents.
