Reus Deportiu v Barça Lassa: Winning run comes to an end (3-2)

The blaugranes are not able to secure their eighth consecutive win in the league as the team from Tarragona win a tight encounter

The eighth game of the OK league season has brought the roller hockey side their first defeat of the campaign. Set pieces were the achilles’ heel for Edu Castro team as they conceded three times for the first time this season.

The game between first and third in the table began with Reus on top, only an inspired Egurrola in goal kept them at bay. Barça Lassa came closest to opening the scoring, however, with Pau Bargalló hitting the crossbar.

Both teams were then awarded penalties with different results. Ordoñez missed his for Barça Lassa before Casanovas added his to give Reus the lead. After a time out Pablo Álvarez finally made it 1-1 for the blaugranes.

Just before half time, Reus retook the lead through another set piece, this time a direct free-kick. In the second half a great pass from Panadero allowed Pau Bargalló to grab the equaliser for Barça Lassa. The visitors were on top but were denied by the woodwork again, Bargalló and then Álvarez the unlucky ones.

Chances came at both ends with the two sides chasing the win but it was Reus who found the net, once again from a set piece. The woodwork denied Edu Castro’s side again and it was not to be but Barça Lassa remain top of the table despite the loss at rivals Reus.
