Barça 5–2 Recam Làser Caldes: Great second half and semi-final bound

A win and semi-final bound. Barça beat Recam Làser Caldes in the quarterfinal of the Copa at the Onze de Setembre centre in Lleida (5-2). Drawing at half-time 1-1, Edu Castro's team produced a great second half display. Barça next face Noia at the same centre on Saturday (6:45pm CEST).

Even first half

Recam Làser Caldes scored first and early on through Sito Ricart to make it 0-1 right after Panadero hit the bar. Barça looked for the equaliser, which came from a direct free hit by Pau Bargalló after Xevi Gurri saw a blue card for a foul.

Egurrola saved a penalty to keep the scoreline unchanged before being substituted for Sergi Fernández due to a knock.

Great second half by Barça

The second half secured Barça's passage to the semi-final. Patience and then two goals in two minutes by Sergi Llorca and Nil Roca gave Barça a 3-1 lead.

Despite dominating, it took until the 37th minute for Bargalló to score a great volleyed goal after a Pascual assist from behind the goal (4-1, min 37). A 10th Barça foul gave Recam Láser Caldes the chance to cut the lead but Sergi Fernández made the stop.

Bargalló then scored another great goal for 5-1, before Caldes scored a late consolation penalty through Cristian Rodríguez. 5-2 the final score and Barça will play Noia Freixenet in the Copa semi-final in Lleida (6.45pm CEST).
