Super Cup champions for the eleventh time with Egurrola and Panadero at the helm

2021 begins with Egurrola's 75th title and Panadero's 58th, equalling Borregán

2021 has started well with a title for the hockey section that only took three days to arrive, thanks to the victory against Reus Deportiu Miró. The Ilerna Online Super Cup is the second title won this season after the success in the Catalan League, and has produced several interesting stats:

Aitor Egurrola and Sergi Panadero, superchampions for the 11th time: The section has won eleven of the eighteen Super Cups available, with them all coming with these two captains in the team.

127 titles, with 75 from Egurrola!: It is the 127th title in the 78-year history of the section, with more than half of these successes being enjoyed by Aitor Egurrola, the FC Barcelona athlete with the most titles won at the club.

58 for Panadero and Borregán: A legend, Beto Borregán, retired with 58 titles won. At the time, he was the athlete in the section with the most titles and now Sergi Panadero has equalled him. Only Víctor Tomàs (69), David Barrufet (71) and the aforementioned Egurrola are ahead of him.

Sergi Fernández and Pablo Álvarez move up the list: Below Borregán and Panadero, the hockey players with the most titles are David Páez (45), Negro Páez (43) and Vila-puig (32). Sergi Fernández, with his eighth Super Cup, also now has 32 titles and is in seventh place on this privileged list. Sergi Centell (31) and Argentina's Pablo Álvarez (30), have equalled compatriot Gaby Cairo with their seventh Super Cup.

Four newcomers: This was the fifth Super Cup for Matias Pascual and the second for Ignacio Alabart and Pau Bargalló, who already won it in 2017 at Sant Hipòlit de Voltregà. Nil Roca, João Rodrigues, Helder Nunes and Sergi Llorca celebrate their debut title.

The thirteenth title with Edu Castro: The 2017 Super Cup was the first title won with Edu Castro as head coach, and this Sunday's victory has meant a 13th title (out of 17 possible). It places him fourth on the all-time coaches list, equalling Ricard Muñoz and behind Quim Paüls (17 titles), Carlos Figueroa (31) and Josep Lorente (36).
