CH Caldes 1 - 2 Barça Lassa: A step away from glory

The blaugranes reach the final after a win against a combative rival

Barça Lassa have reached the final thanks to a 2-1 win over Caldes in which keeper Sergio Fernández was outstanding. Goals from Pablo Álvarez and Joao Rodrigues handed Edu Castro's side the win and with it the chance to add new silverware to the section's already bulging trophy cabinet.

In the first half Barça Lassa held their own defensively with Caldes insistent in attack. The keeper Sergio Fernández was in fine form and the league's best defence held out the early onslaught. Caldes' keeper Campor also pulled off several good saves before Pablo Álvarez made it 1-0 after 23 minutes with his 50th goal of the season.

In the second half the Barça defence continued to impress and when Joao made it 2-0, the momentum swung decisively in favour of the blaugranes. Rovira pulled one back late on but that was not enough to prevent Barça Lassa from reaching the final for the 9th time in 11 years. The opponents will be Liceo on Sunday at 5.00pm CET.
