Barça Lassa 80 – 65 Anadolu Efes: Huge second-half seals the win

Barça overcome a 17-point deficit to triumph in the Euroleague

FC Barcelona Lassa overcame a 17-point first-half deficit with an enormous second-half turnaround to beat Anadolu Efes, 80-65, in Thursday night Euroleague action at the Palau Blaugrana.

Barça's Pierre Oriola led the way with 14 points and four rebounds. Christ Singleton chipped in with 13 points.

A streaky first quarter saw Barça go on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 21 before the visitors went on a run of their own to take a 29-23 lead at the start of the second quarter.

Anadolu were hot from three-point territory, making eight of 12 in the first 15 minutes. Along the way, Barça's deficit grew to 11 by the end of the first half, 50-39.

But the third quarter was a whole other story. Tenacious defending — the Turkish team only scored 15 points in the entire second half — and a renewed urgency on offense allowed Barça to go on a 20-7 run, giving them a 59-57 lead to start the fourth.

That lead grew further down the stretch, with a bevy of steals and excellent ball handling providing plenty of fuel to send the Catalans to their eighth Euroleague win of the season.
