Kirolbet Baskonia 70-77 Barça Lassa: Great cup win in Vitoria

Barça Lassa earned their seventh win of the Euroleague in Vitoria, against a Kirolbet Baskonia side who were their equal throughout. The match was decided in the last period thanks to an inspired Kevin Pangos, the top scorer with 16 points.

A quick fire start from both sides saw some early scores (6-6, min 2), with Pau Ribas in particular helping Barça Lassa to stay ahead by the end of the period (16-19). An increase in the hosts’ success rate ensured that the Blaugranes were never out of sight, and by the end of the second period, thanks to a basket by Singleton on the horn, the visitors were still only slightly in front (39-42).

Intensity

In the third period, Barça were able to maintain their lead until shortly after the halfway point, when Baskonia managed to block their offensive fluidity. A low-scoring period ended 55-49, but in the final quarter, the Blaugranes upped the intensity and regained their dominance on the scoreboard (57-59, min 34). An inspired Kevin Pangos led the team to victory (70-77), giving Svetislav Pesic’s side a balance of seven wins and seven defeats in the Euroleague.
