Barça Lassa 60-69 Olympiacos: Fatal third period

Blaugrana now 6-7 in the Euroleague regular season after a tight game eventually goes the way of the Greek visitors

Barça Lassa have lost to Olympiakos in game 13 of the Euroleague regular season. The third period probed fatal at the Palau on Tuesday night and despite the fervent backing of the home crowd, the Catalans were unable to bounce back.

The game took some time to break, with both sides defending voraciously and just 27 points were scored by the two sides in the opening quarter of an hour.

Séraphin and Kuric mixed things up after the restart, but the 30-32 scoreline at half-time did little to split two tightly matched sides.

A 10-3 streak from Olympiakos set up the first big gap between the teams, and with Barça struggling to find points, the Greeks broke away to 35-47 in an offensive flurry that set the alarm bells ringing.

The final period saw the home supporters getting fiercely behind their men as they did all they could to make amends, but they were never able to cut the deficit down to anything that could threaten the visitors’ lead, and the defeat leaves Barça Lassa 6-7 in the competition.
