Arthur and Felipe Araújo meet up in Barcelona

Brazilian singer invited to Barcelona by LaLiga and catches up with old pal Arthur at the Ciutat Esportiva

Brazilian singer-songwriter Felipe Araújo was at the Camp Nou by special invite of LaLiga to appear in the social networks of a competition. And while he was here, he even sung a few of his ditties on the pitch before heading off to the Ciutat Esportiva to catch up with an old friend – his compatriot and Barça first team star Arthur.

Shared origins

The two of them are from Goiânia and have been buddies since a mutual friend introduced them at one of the singer’s gigs. In a peculiar role reversal, at the Barça training ground Araújo played a bit of footy and Arthur sings one of his pal’s most famous tunes.

The footballer also handed a special commemorative shirt to his fellow Brazilian.

At the derby

The singer also went to the RCDE Stadium to watch the team beat Espanyol 4-0 in the city derby. He’s a huge fan of Leo Messi, and got to see his hero at his best with two stunning free-kick goals, and is also an admirer of rising Brazilian star Malcom.
