El Clásico recovery session as page turns to Copa del Rey

Barça went right back to work on Monday morning, the day after routing Real Madrid, 5-1

The morning after the 5-1 El Clásico victory over Real Madrid, Ernesto Valverde's squad returned Monday to training already thinking about Wednesday’s Copa del Rey match against Cultural Leonesa. In the morning session the available players from the first team were joined by Carevic, Iñaki Peña, Chumi, J. Cuenca, Miranda and Riqui Puig from Barça B. The starters  against Real Madrid did recovery work. Cillessen did not train due to gastroenteritis. Monday’s session was the team’s first using the Copa del Rey ball, which is different from the Nike ball used in La Liga.

The next training session will be on Tuesday at 6.00pm CET, the last workout before visiting Cultural Leonesa. Ter Stegen, Piqué, I. Rakitic, Sergio, Coutinho, Suárez and Jordi Alba, however, have been given Tuesday off. Kickoff on Wednesday is at 9.30pm CET in the first leg of the Copa del Rey last 32. Before training, coach Ernesto Valverde will appear before the media.
