Penyes Council plenary approves new Sponsorship Plan

The Supporters Club World Confederation held the Penyes Council plenary on 19 October, in which FC Barcelona director Pau Vilanova and president of the Confederation, Antoni Guil, approved and signed the new Sponsorship Plan. Specifically, the agreement between the Club and the Confederation was ratified with the collaboration of the club’s Main Partners (Nike, Rakuten and Beko) and Premium Partners (Estrella Damm, La Caixa, Gillette, Konami). The amount raised by the sponsorship plan will be used to develop the strategic plan for the Penyes S. XXI project to continue with the roadmap for the growth and consolidation of the Supporters Club movement. The Vice President of the Club and the Barça Foundation, Jordi Cardoner, welcomed those present at the Plenary, who were representing the 30 Penyes Federations.

Among other issues on the agenda were the explanation of process for the execution of the Federations’ Development Plan, through which the Boards of Directors are expected to be formed as early as December, progressively and by geographical area. The Plan aims to increase self-management, decentralise administrative tasks and to allow Federations to carry out more events during the season.

The logistical aspects were also addressed. Among the main issues were the new measures for parking due to the public works by the City Council in the neighbourhoods around Camp Nou, and it was stated that access points will continue to be the same: On Diagonal and down Martí i Franquès St, and -only in case this area is already full- Local Police will guide drivers to the new parking area. Likewise, it 31 December was established as the deadline for requesting the Penyista Card for 2019, and the last day of payment was set for 1 July, with the possibility of issuing monthly editions of the card once 2019 is underway.

Some issues, such as the approval of the new application rules, were postponed until the next plenary in December and, therefore, the moratorium remains in place until then.
