Barça Lassa - Divina Seguros Joventut: Victory in a derby that doesn't disappoint (94-92)

In a high-octane match, with great moments from both teams, Pesic's team prevailed to take the win

An exciting victory this Sunday for Barça Lassa at the Palau Blaugrana, in a game against Divina Seguros Joventut de Badalona that wasn’t decided until the last seconds.

An irregular start in which the visitors hit three-pointers with incredible regularity, saw the verdinegros quickly move ahead on the scoreboard (14-29, min 11). Barça needed to react quickly, and they did. The importance of Kevin Pangos was never bettered evidenced as the hosts clawed their way back to within a point just five minutes later (31-32, min 16), before Claver closed the second quarter (40 -38, min 20).

Extension is needed

Barça weren’t able to hammer home their advantage despite having more offensive and defensive success, and Carles Duran’s side were never really out of the game. At 55-45 and then 71-61 at the beginning of the fourth period, the game was there to be won comfortably. Pangos’ three-pointer kept Barça a healthy distance from their opponents (76 -67, min 35) but they wouldn’t give up, and Harangody’s triple in the last seconds forced an extension (81-81).

Pangos reigns supreme

Throughout the game, Pangos was spectacular, and the Canadian’s importance in the extension was just as noteworthy. Not only for the seven points added in those last few minutes, but also in the manner of his game, which was vital for the final 94-92 score that allowed Barça to secure a sixth consecutive victory at this start of the League season.
