Ernesto Valverde talks Barça vs Huesca

See what the Barça manager had to say ahead of the team's third match of the season

Apropos of FC Barcelona’s third La Liga fixture of the season, which comes at Camp Nou on Sunday at 6.30pm CET against SD Huesca, a team in the midst of its first ever season in the Spanish top flight, the blaugrana manager Ernesto Valverde sat calmly before the regular contingent of local, national, and international media on Saturday and offered a stern warning — don’t look past Huesca, because the Aragonese team, regardless of First Division experience, will come to play.

Here are the highlights of what Valverde had to say.

On Huesca:

“They will stand up to us and be looking to surprise us, because they’ll be coming into the game with enthusiasm.”

“They are undefeated after playing at two tough stadiums like Ipurúa and San Mamés.”

On the international break:

“When we get back from the break, the rhythm of games will pick up with the Champions League and Copa del Rey, which is why we need the whole team.”

On Ousmane Dembélé:

“He’s working very hard and we hope he has continuity throughout the season.”
