C.E Sabadell – Barça B: First win of the season (0-1)

Garcia Pimienta's men took the victory against Sabadell after an own goal in the final moments of the game

Barcelona B claimed their first win of the 2018/19 league season at Sabadell's Estadi de la Nova Creu Alta on Sunday, courtesy of an own goal from Aleix Coch in the closing minutes. Besides the result, the other good news from the game was the return to action of Carles Aleña following his spell out through injury.

The game started with Barça B dominating possession and enjoying the first chances on goal. Sabadell had their first opportunity on 15 minutes, but Ezkieta was able to block Arturo's shot with authority.

An evenly matched first half ended with the score goalless, and both defences looking solid.

Aleñá lights up the Barça B play

The initial moments of the second half were similar to the first period, with plenty of battles for the ball and little in the way of clear chances.

Sarsanedas was forced off with an injury on the hour mark, making way for Carles Aleñá after three months on the sidelines. He added creativity and new ideas to the Barça B midfield, as the away team moved the ball around well and at a faster pace.

An electric last half-hour

Mujica came close to breaking the deadlock on 70 minutes, having got past a defender and fired a shot near to goal.

Five minutes later, Barça B got their reward for their persistence, as a cross from Miranda ended up in the net after hitting Sabadell player Aleix Coch.

Sabadell looked for an equaliser, and Ezkeita made a magnificent save late on with 4 minutes remaining. The referee disallowed a goal for Valentin, and Barça B held on during the 6 minutes of added time to claim their first win in Segunda B this term.
