Barça Women – Espanyol: Copa Cataunya winners! (7-0)

A 7-0 win against Espanyol gives the FC Barcelona women's team their ninth cup triumph

Barça Women won the final of the Copa Catalunya with an excellent display at the Camp Municipal Joan Capdevila, beating Espanyol 7-0. The goals came from braces by AndonovaDuggan and Hamraoui, plus a final strike from Bárbara Latorre. This is the ninth time Barça Women have lifted the Copa Catalunya, and the fifth in succession.

High-scoring first half

Fran Sánchez' players enjoyed chances right from the get-go, and took just 11 minutes to open the scoring. Andonova made it 1-0 with a shot from inside the area, and 5 minutes later Toni Duggan doubled the advantage.

A series of opportunities followed, accompanied by goal number three on 25 minutes.  Hamraoui scored for the first time in a Barça shirt, meeting a Mariona cross. Andonova completed her brace just before the half hour mark, swinging in a corner for an 'Olympic goal.'

Second half solidity

Three more goals went Barça's way after the restart, with Hamraoui striking after a ball had hit an opposition defender. A quick free kick in the 79th minute was met by Duggan for her second goal, and Bárbara Latorre rounded off the scoring 3 minutes from time, off a great pass from Mariona Caldentey.

The Copa Catalunya winners will start their Liga Iberdrola campaign in two weeks' time, debuting against Athletic Club away from home.
