FC Barcelona's Luis Enrique shortlisted for Best FIFA Men’s Coach 2016

Official website of football's global governing body announces list of ten candidates for an honour that will be presented in Zurich in January

FIFA has announced the names of the ten candidates for the inaugural Best Men’s Coach award 2016, and as would only be expected, Luis Enrique’s name is among those on the shortlist.

In his second year in charge, the Asturian led the team to the Liga and Copa de Rey double, and started his third by adding the Spanish Super Cup to the collection.

Combined selection

Voting will now take place between November 4 and 22 to choose the three finalists, whose names will be announced on December 2. The overall winner will be honoured at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich on 9 January 2017.

Fans will play a major role in the decision, for 50% of the votes are cast by the captains and coaches of the world’s national teams, and the other 50% will be decided by a combination of online votes by supporters via www.fifa.com and by a selection of some 200 leading sportswriters.
