The FC Barcelona Photo Awards to be presented in New York

The presentation of Barça's photo awards in the United States will be attended by the Vice President in charge of the Area of Institutional and International Relations, Carles Vilarrubí

The FCBarcelona Photo Awards will be presented this Monday in New York. After the awards were recently advertised in Times Square, they will now be presented at the Aperture Foundation at a round table discussion named Crossing Bridges. The Vice President responsible for the Area of Institutional and International Relations, Carles Vilarrubí will represent FC Barcelona at this event and in other planned activities.

As well as Vilarrubí, the roundtable will be attended by moderator Christie Lange, editor associated to the magazine ‘Frieze’; members of the FCBarcelona Photo Awards jury; Azu Nwagbogu, founder and director of the African Artists Foundation (AAF) and Stephen Mayes, executive director of Tim Hetherington. Other attendees include Gail Buckland, advisor in photographic matters to ex Vice President Al Gore; and Jean-Denis Walter, director of the Jean-Denis Walter gallery in Paris, ex director of photography and editor-in-chief of L’Équipe magazine.

On Tuesday morning, a visit to Brooklyn Museum is planned and in the afternoon an agreement to collaborate with the Farragut Fund for Catalan Culture in the U.S. will be signed. The initiative seeks to bring the Catalan Countries and the United States closer and looks to support innovation in the arts, culture, humanities and sciences. The day will end with an institutional reception at FC Barcelona's New York offices.

At this same venue, another roundtable discussion will be held on Sport/Football and Women, which will count on the participation of the blaugranas Vice President and Angela Hucles, President of the Women’s Sport Foundation as well as the founder and executive director of Empowerment Through Sport Leadership.
