300 up for Javier Mascherano

The Argentine arrived at another landmark against Borussia Mönchengladbach some six years after signing for the blaugranes

Javier Mascherano made his 300th appearance in a Barça shirt on Tuesday in the Champions League group stage clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Argentine international reaches the milestone some six years after his debut for the blaugranes which came in a 2-0 home defeat at Camp Nou in a league game against Hércules.

Since then the versatile Mascherano has won four league titles, two Champions Leagues, two Club World Cups, three Copas del Rey, two European Super Cups and four Spanish Super Cups. Quite a collection of titles for the Barça number 14 who is third on the all time list appearances by foreign players, with only Dani Alves on 391 and Leo Messi on 549 ahead of him. At 32 years of age, Mascherano only recently extended his contract with the Club, reaching an agreement which will keep him at FC Barcelona until 30 June 2019.
