Arturo Vidal meets teammates in afternoon training session

The Chilean midfielder's eventful first full day as a blaugrana comes to an end as he completes his first training session under Ernesto Valverde

Arturo Vidal’s big day comes to an end. Having completed his medical, signed his contract, tested the pitch at the Camp Nou and spoken to the press, the midfielder met his new teammates in the evening training session. The Chilean worked out on the Tito Vilanova pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper for the first time.

All eyes were on Barça’s fourth signing of the 2018/19 season as he stepped on to the pitch and was greeted warmly by the squad. He completed his first warm up ‘rondos’ and trained alongside Messi, Busquets, Piqué, Jordi Alba, Dembélé, Samper, Rakitic, Umtiti, Luis Suárez, Coutinho, Yerry Mina and Vermaelen. All under the watchful gaze of the coach Ernesto Valverde.

Double session

The six returning internationals managed to complete the day’s double workout, while it was also the second day back for the following key players: Messi, Busquets, Piqué, Jordi Alba, Dembélé and Samper.

On 7 August, the preparations continue for the first team with another morning training session, which will be open to the press, ahead of the first competitive match of the season against Sevilla in the Spanish Supercup.
