Who will score FC Barcelona's first goal of 2017?

A video look back at the first goals of every year of the last decade - and the chance to wonder who will be the first scorer of the year that's about to begin

Barça scored 174 competitive goals in 2016, and that massive tally began when Leo Messi converted a spectacular free kick against Espanyol in the Copa del Rey, replicating a similar goal scored by Xavi Hernández against Getafe to get things going in 2007.

Santi Ezquerro scored the first FCB goal of 2008, Thierry Henry was the man in 2009, and then Pedro Rodríguez opened the January accounts in both 2010 and 2011. The next 'can-opener' as they say in Spanish was Cesc Fàbregas in 2012, Xavi Hernández did it again in 2013, Alexis Sánchez in 2014, Neymar Jr in 2015 and the aforesaid scored his free kick in 2016.

In this video, you can enjoy all ten opening goals of the year for the last decade, and as you watch them, you can have a ponder about who you think will be the first Barcelona player to find the net in 2017.
