VIDEO: Ter Stegen saves the day against Leganés

The German goalkeeper made five enormous saves in Barça's 2–1 La Liga victory over Leganés

Although Leo Messi's two goals may have keyed the Barça attack in Sunday night's 2-1 win over Leganés, goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen’s contribution at the other end of the pitch was equally important. The German goalkeeper made five key saves at critical points in the match to keep Barça in the game and put them in a position to eventually win the game on Messi's 89th minute penalty kick.

Leganés winger Nabil El Zhar will be having nightmares about the Barça keeper for weeks to come, after Ter Stegen denied him on three occasions in the first half alone.

In the second half, Guerrero and Gabriel also came up empty against the German keeper, whose contribution allowed Luis Enrique’s side to claim the three points and keep pace in the race for the La Liga title.
