Stoichkov: I believe in these players who have brought so much success

Puyol: “We must remain united” Piqué: “The most important thing is to be ourselves again”

Former FC Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov spoke to the media about the current situation the team finds itself in, underlining the need to back the players.

“I believe in these players who have brought so much success throughout these years,” said the Bulgarian.

The former striker said that turning things around against PSG “will be difficult and we must be realistic, but it is not impossible”.

Barca “will have to go for the win from the first minute. If we have a two-goal lead before the break then we can think it might be possible” before adding that “the comeback begins this Sunday by trying to win at the Calderón”.

Stoichkov went on to say that the Camp Nou faithful should “never turn their back on the team” and “the fact that they did not applaud in one game does not mean that they are not giving their support”.

The Bulgarian spoke of how past disappointments in his day sparked some major revivals: “We lost 5-0 in Santander with Laudrup, Romario, Bakero and myself on the field, and then we went on to win our next 14 matches in a row. In Zaragoza we lost 6-3 and then we won 16 games straight and won the league. One game is not the end of the world,” he concluded.
