Luis Enrique reaches 100-game plateau in La Liga as FC Barcelona head coach

The Asturias, Spain native has put up impressive numbers along the way, including 74 victories

On Sunday, 26 February 2017, the FC Barcelona manager coached his 100th La Liga game since joining the Club prior to the 2014/15 season.

Barça’s league record in his two-and-a-half seasons at the helm is a whopping 75 wins, 14 draws, and 11 losses. Moreover, Luis Enrique and Barça are now chasing a La Liga three-peat.

Across all competitions, he has now coached Barça in a grand total of 163 matches, with a record of 124 wins, 21 draws, and 18 losses. He has led the team to 8 titles, including two in La Liga, two in the Copa del Rey, and one each in the UEFA Champions League, the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Before managing the first team, Luis Enrique was the coach of Barça B for three seasons, who he led the to a third-place finish in the Second Division, the highest ever for Barça’s reserve team. After that, he was at Roma and Celta before returning to the Camp Nou, where he had also played for the team for eight seasons, from 1996 to 2004, making 207 appearances in La Liga.
