FC Barcelona Lassa 3-4 Hockey Forte: Into the Final Four!

Despite losing the second leg at home, Ricard Muñoz leads his team into a sixth successive European semi-final by an aggregate score of 6-5

Barça Lassa are through to yet another European Final Four – the sixth in a row – after eliminating Forte dei Marmi by an aggregate score of 6-5. But it wasn't easy, and after losing the first leg at home, the Italians came to the Palau on a mission and came away with a 4-3 win. Thankfully, that wasn’t enough to unseat Barça from their berth in the semi-finals, which will be against Oliveirense of Portugal on May 13 at a venue yet to be decided.

Coach Ricard Muñoz had already insisted before the game that it was “anything but a formality” and although Barça led 3-1 from the first leg, and took the lead on three occasions, the visitors managed to find an answer every time and a goal from De Oro right at the end meant the Italians had 30 seconds to score again and force the game into extra time.

It was a nail-biting finale, but Barça Lassa held on and can now start making plans for the end of season showcase event.
