Trident closing in on 100 goals

Leo Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar Jr have scored 98 goals between them this season - meaning they need just two more to complete a third consecutive century

There is simply no stopping the trident! Between the three of them, Leo Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar Jr have scored 98 goals in all competitions this season, exactly half of those scored by the Argentinian (49), while 34 have come from the Uruguayan and 15 from the Brazilian.

But such goalscoring feats are something we have become used to since the MSN have been together. In Suárez’s first season at the club (2014-15), they amassed 122 goals, and they went even better last term with 131.

No club in any of Europe’s major leagues has a frontline that even comes close to matching the Barça threesome, the closest challenge coming from the PSG strike-force, who have shared 75 goals in all competitions.

But Messi, Suárez and Neymar Jr also lead the way in assists. The Brazilian alone has set up 19 goals in all competitions, a tally only topped by Christian Eriksen of Tottenham with 20, and matched by Ousmane Dembélé of Dortmund.

Messi and Suárez also feature high in the list with 15 assists each.
