FC Barcelona and Real Madrid to play each other in Miami on Sunday 30 July, then the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday 13 August, and at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday 16 August

The schedule for the Spanish Super Cup has been announced for this year. Barça take on Real Madrid at the Camp Nou on 13 August while the return leg is at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday 16 August. The times are yet to be confirmed. The first trophy in the 2017/18 season is up for grabs in Ernesto Valverde’s first tournament as Barça coach.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, who will also play a preseason friendly in the United States, will play each other three times in less than 19 days. The first match will be on US soil at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday 30 July in the International Champions Cup. The match will be the third of FC Barcelona’s preseason tour in the United States after their matches against Juventus on Sunday 23 and Manchester United on Thursday 27.

The blaugranas will play the Spanish Super Cup for the third year in a row, which they won in last season against Sevilla. The latest matches between Barça and Real Madrid in this competition were in 2011 and 2012 with a victory a piece.

The first leg will be the first official match of the 2017/18 season at the Camp Nou. Before this game, FC Barcelona will host Chapecoense in the first match of the season in front of the home crowd for the 52nd Joan Gamper Trophy at 8.30pm CET on 7 August.
