Rakim Sanders, an all-action exponent for Barça Lassa

The 28-year-old American, standing at 1'96, is a scorer with a great athletic ability

Signed from Olimpia de Milan on a free transfer, Rakim Sanders will play for Barça Lassa next season, until June 30, 2018.

A Rhode Island (USA) native, the 28-year-old, who stands at 1’96, plays in the position of small forward (3), but can also act as a power forward (4) thanks to his physical capability.

Three-pointers are a speciality – he averaged about 40% in the Euroleague - and Sanders is a regular scorer that’s adept at driving to the basket and taking advantage of his size to overcome his opponent.

Great hands ensure that he doesn’t often cede possession in defence and he averages at least one rebound per game.

Experience in Europe

After completing his degree at Boston College and Fairfield, Sanders arrived at Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.

Loaned to Galil Gilboa in his first season as a professional, it gave him the opportunity to show his quality and he averaged 12.6 points per match in 2012/13.

He later played for Brose Bamberg in Germany, where he debuted in the Euroleague (2013/14), and in the following season he won the treble with Italian team, Sassari.

Sanders has spent the last two seasons at Emporio Armani EA7 Milan, winning a league, an Italian Cup, a Super Cup and the Euroleague.

With an average of 12.5 points in 2016/17, he was the top scorer for the Italian outfit.
