Barça fans come together in the heart of Manhattan

Close to 4,000 blaugrana fans come to Bryant Park to create a mosaic of the Barça shirt with the Rakuten and UNICEF logos

The blaugrana fans of New York came together in the heart of Manhattan in Bryant Park to take part in a gigantic mosaic of FC Barcelona’s shirt. The event was attended by the Club President, Josep Maria Bartomeu; the board members who have travelled to New York; the Barça Legends player and Club ambassador, Juliano Belletti; and the ex-player Thierry Henry.

Moreover, Barça’s CEO, Òscar Grau and Rakuten’s CEO Hiroshi Mikitani, joined in as well as the local supporters clubs and FCBEscoles. From early in the morning, the citizens of New York, tourists and blaugrana fans started arriving at this central Manhattan location to be a part of the mosaic.

At around 12.00pm EST, the 3,330 participants lifted their tiles to make the biggest Barça shirt in history. The mosaic included the UNICEF logo and this represents the long relationship Barça has with the United Nations Children’s Fund.

The open event took place in the morning of Ernesto Valverde’s debut as coach of FC Barcelona against Juventus at the MetLife Stadium. All the participants who registered prior to the event had the chance of winning the new Barça shirt among other surprises.
