Leo Messi breaks the 350 mark in La Liga

A brace against Alavés takes him on to 351 as he reaches another landmark figure in the league

Leo Messi reaches another landmark. After a hat-trick against the woodwork last weekend in the 2-0 win over Betis, the Argentine finally found the net not once, but twice against Alavés in the 2-0 away win in Mendizorrotza.

Both goals came in the second half against the Basque side and Messi’s brace now takes him past the 350 mark in the league and onto a current total of 351.

The Barça number 10 scored twice in the second half after missing a penalty before the break, Alavés keeper Pacheco making a tremendous save to keep out his spot kick. His first came on 55 minutes after a ball in from Alba, his second 10 minutes later with an assist from Paco Alcácer.

Leo Messi’s league record goes back a long. Thanks to his goals against Alavés, the Barça star has now scored in 14 consecutive league campaigns, a feat no other current player can match. Messi marches on and his nose for goal just goes on and on with him.
