A great start to the season for Ter Stegen

The German goalkeeper is playing well for FC Barcelona so let's take a look at some of the outstanding stats from the Blaugrana custodian

FC Barcelona have made a great start to the season, unbeaten in the League and in the Champions League. In his fourth season at Barça, Marc-André Ter Stegen has played a big part, having only conceded two goals in the domestic competition - one against Getafe and another in the Eibar game. He is yet to concede in Europe with Barça beating Juventus (3-0) and Sporting Club de Portugal (0-1).

We have to go back to the 2014/15 season to find better records than the current one. On that occasion, the Blaugrana played eight games without conceding. The last time that Barça had only let in two goals in the first seven matches was way back in 1988/89.

With 85.71% of shots stopped in the 630 minutes that he has played, Ter Stegen’s averages are impressive. He also has the opportunity of being a regular starter in the German national team after Manuel Neuer’s injury.
