Squad announced for Olympiacos: Injured Jordi Alba misses out

Bad news for Ernesto Valverde. Defender Jordi Alba hurts his hamstring in training and will be forced to sit out tomorrow's game against the Greeks at Camp Nou

Ernesto Valverde has named his squad of eighteen for Wednesday’ Champions League game with Olympiacos at the Camp Nou (8.45pm CET).

And unfortunately Jordi Alba’s name is not included after pulling an adductor muscle in his thigh during the Tuesday evening training session. The full extent of the damage will not be known until after tests by the club medical staff.

The first fifteen minutes of the workout, which also featured Barça B goalkeeper Adria Ortolá, were open to the media.

Alba’s name is added to those of Arda Turan, Ousmane Dembélé and Rafinha on the casualty list, while the names of Aleix Vidal and Thomas Vermaelen have also been left off the list..

The full squad is thus as follows: Ter Stegen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Denis, Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Cillessen, Mascherano, Paulinho, Deulofeu, Paco Alcácer, Digne, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes and Umtiti.
