Barça Lassa - Ademar León: A win with authority at the Palau (28-20)

The physical game of Xavi Pascual’s men was enough to beat the second-placed team in the Asobal League, Valero Creek top scoring with 11 goals

Barça Lassa, the leader of the Asobal League, remain unbeaten after winning against second-placed Ademar León 28-20. The victory arrived thanks to a great few minutes at the end of the first half and Valero Rivera’s 11 goals.

The match started with visitors easing into the lead (0-2), showing why they are one of the best teams in Asobal and also in Europe. Barça reacted quickly through Sorhaindo and Valero Rivera, but were unable to consistently pressurise their visitors. It wasn’t until 20 minutes of play when Barça first led in the match (9-8).

Strong before the break

At 25 minutes, the hosts edged further ahead (12-10) thanks to a goal from Dika Mem, and that was the prelude to what would be a great last few minutes of the half for the culers. Víctor Tomás and Valero were instrumental in widening the gap to 17-12 before the hooter sounded.

The second half began as the first ended, but Ademar clawed themselves back into contention and only trailed by five (21 -16, minute 45). Barça Lassa’s players took advantage of Costoya and Biosca’s exclusions to pull away again, and a final score of 28-20 was well deserved.
