VIDEO Sergio Busquets press conference quotes before Barça vs Chelsea

The Barça midfielder was the first to speak to the media on the eve of the Champions League round of 16 return leg

FC Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets was Barça's player representative at Tuesday's Champions League press conference. Barça hosts Chelsea at Camp Nou on Wednesday night after the teams drew, 1–1, at Stamford Bridge in the February 20 first leg. Here are the highlights of what Busquets had to say:

On what Barça needs to do:

“We want the ball and to be well positioned to take advantage of the chances that we get. As always, we will be going for the victory.”

“We have to really pay attention to Chelsea. Their attackers are similar in nature and they are all important.

“We have to stay together and defend as a team. But we also have to remember that they are playing as well.

“We have to know how to read the game, to take advantage of our skill, and not speculate.”

On the virtues of Chelsea:

“Tactically, they are a very good team.”

“Every team has its own peculiarities. Chelsea has the resources to sit back and defend, as well as to possess the ball.”

On whether previous games against Chelsea can serve as a reference for this one:

“You can draw conclusions from every game. In 2012,     we started out really well, we went ahead on the scoreboard, we went for it in the second leg, we missed a penalty kick — that's all part of football.”

“It was a sad game, because we could have gone through to the final. We played great in those games, and it seems inconceivable that we didn't go through, but that's the way football is.”

On how Leo Messi is feeling after the birth of his third son:

“Messi will be fine for the game. I hope he is even more motivated than usual. I hope he does what he normally does, which is be the difference maker for us.”
