Barça Lassa v Teucro: Victorious farewell (41-25)

The blaugranas comfortably defeat the Galician side in an entertaning game with lots of celebrations and some emotional goodbyes

The blaugranas win against Teucro by 41-25 in a game which Valero Rivera dominated with seven goals. On the day, Barça Lassa received their trophy as domestic champions and they said their goodbyes to the departing Viran Morros, Valero Rivera, Ristovski and Alexis Borges.

The match started with a slow rhythm as both teams were level following some precise attacks. Valero Rivera took it upon himself to drag his side out in front with three unstoppable shots. Despite the opposition’s best efforts, the blaugranas moved into a nine-goal-lead before the break with the whole squad contributing (21-10).

Towards victory

Although Xavi Pascual’s side had a considerable lead, they continued to play with real intensity in the second half. In the 40th minute, Barça were 29-17 up and Valero Rivera’s attacking performance was a big reason for this along with Dika Mem and Yanis Lanne.

The final minutes of the game were a goalscoring fest for the team from Barcelona and the crowd loved every moment. Valero Rivera finished with seven goals and he was the star player in a convincing 41-25 victory.

Celebrations and goodbyes

The title had been wrapped up a couple of fixtures ago, but the trophy was only presented to the Liga Asobal champions Barça Lassa this Saturday. The players celebrated in front of their home crowd. Also, there were some touching moments as the crowd gave Viran Morros, Valero Rivera, Borko Ristovski and Alexis Borges the send-off they deserve.

It was a day to remember for many reasons and was the perfect way to celebrate another trophy-laden season. However, the blaugranas still have to play one more game in the Supercopa de Catalunya, against Granollers at Agramunt in Lleida on Wednesday 23 May.
