Hansi Flick: 'We weren't fresh enough'
Barça's winning run under Hansi Flick in La Liga has come to an end. The Catalans dropped their first points of the campaign in a painful Clásico defeat in the closing minutes. The Barça coach shared his thoughts after the game.
"We're disappointed because we lacked freshness" he said. "It's our first defeat in La Liga after nine consecutive wins, but these things happen. In big games, the details are very important, and today they didn't go our way. Defeats are part of football. We have to analyse what happened, do things better, and that's what we'll do."
The German coach stressed that, after two consecutive defeats, "what matters now is how we react. We have to refocus. Everyone needs to make the right decisions. Rest properly, train well and respond to these defeats."
He also lamented the injury situation, saying that "the injuries are the biggest concern" after losing another defender in Xavi Espart. On a more positive note, Frenkie de Jong returned to action, with Flick commenting that "he's trained very well and will be useful to us."
