The goal machine rolls on
Another three points and another four goals for FC Barcelona in 2026/27 following the 4-1 win in Istanbul against Galatasaray in the Champions League. After the recent international break the blaugranes have maintained their goalscoring form having put three past Getafe in the league the weekend before the win in Turkey.
Nine goals in the Champions League
The latest victory in the Champions League means that Barça have now scored nine goals in their first two games of the competition. It is the eighth time a team has scored nine goals in their first two fixtures and the second time for the blaugranes following a 7-0 win against Celtic and a 2-1 win at Borussia Mönchengladbach in their first two fixtures of the 2016/17 season.
80 European goals with Flick
Since Hansi Flick's arrival in the summer of 2024, Barça have now scored 80 goals in the Champions League in just 27 games, an average of almost three a match, the best ever record for a club with the same coach for more than 20 games in the competition. Barça also scored four goals in a game for the first time ever in a match in Turkey in the win over Galatasaray.
10 wins, 43 goals
In all competitions this season Barça have scored 43 goals in their 10 victories in their 10 games played so far, the best return since the team of 1926/27 scored 47 in their first 10 games.
Three is the magic number
Finally, the blaugranes have scored three or more goals in their last eight matches, a feat not achieved since the side of 1942/42 scored at least three in nine consecutive matches. Barça's attacking machine rolls on and the records keep coming.
