A special build-up

The build-up to Barça v Getafe was marked by a series of tributes and awards. Following his announcement that he was retiring from professional football, Pedro was honoured at a special event at the Auditori on Friday, celebrating his career and his ties to the club.

To round off the tribute, the Barça legend stepped onto the pitch to take the ceremonial kick-off before the match, receiving a warm ovation from the fans at the stadium. It was a special moment to honour a player who has left a lasting legacy.

September award winners

The pre-match proceedings also provided an opportunity to recognise the first team's excellent form. Before kick-off, Raphinha received La Liga's Player of the Month award for September, retaining the honour he had already won in August.

João Cancelo also took centre stage, receiving the Goal of the Month award for September for his strike against Racing.
