FC Barcelona 6-1 O Parrulo: Total control
From start to finish. Barça dominated this match against O Parrulo from kick-off to come away with a resounding win (6-1) after the draw in the league at the weekend.
Best possible start
The final scoreline may not have told the same story, but the Galician side are difficult customers, having come to the Palau with the seven points from nine, the same as the blaugranes. The start must have shocked them then, as two chances came and went for Higor and Catela, who ultimately beat Caio César with his second (1-0, min. 1).
The home side kept up the pressure, Touré hit the post, Catela went close to getting a second and Mouhoudine also had an attempt. However, it was Martel, almost inadvertently, who diverted a shot after an individual play by Adolfo to open the gap (2-0, min. 7). O Parrulo managed to come back into the game somewhat, but Feixas was on point.
Two more before the break
Barça then stepped on the gas before the break, scoring two more, first through Adolfo, who punished a loss of possesion (3-0, min. 16) before dedicating the goal to the recently operated Matheus, and then Roger Garcia, who got his first for the first team after good play on the flank (4-0, min. 18). A job well done at half-time.
Three more points
Both teams scored after the restart, with Catela powerfully grabbing a brace (5-0, min. 23) before Novoa got what would prove to be a consolation (5-1, min. 23). The pace then dropped and Barça couldn't make an extra player advantage count after Brayan was sent off until the final play when Higor scored (6-1, min. 40) to round off a match that look destined to be blaugrana from the first minute onwards.
