Barça's winning streak continues. They have now recorded seven consecutive victories, a figure that sets a new record for the club's best-ever start to a season. After matching the record with their win against Levante, the blaugranes faced the challenge of making it seven and they did exactly that, earning all three points in front of the home fans with a victory over Racing.

This latest success establishes a new milestone for the team, which continues to maintain a perfect record and extend its outstanding start to the campaign.

Six in the league and one in the Champions League

This perfect run has been built match by match. Barça began the campaign with a victory away at Elche (5-0), followed by wins over Athletic Club (2-0), Rayo Vallecano (5-2), Valencia (5-0), Feyenoord (5-1), Levante (4-2), and now Racing Santander (7-2).

Until now, the benchmark had been a perfect six wins from six matches, achieved on three occasions: in the 1929/30, 1960/61, and 2018/19 seasons. All three teams won their opening six games, but in none of those campaigns did Barça reach the seventh match still maintaining a flawless winning record.

A start worthy of the numbers

In addition to their perfect winning record, Barça have been producing outstanding attacking and defensive numbers at the start of the season. The blaugranes have turned every matchday into a new opportunity to collect points while maintaining a prolific scoring rate.

The emphatic victories over Elche, Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, Feyenoord and, most recently, Racing Santander have contributed to a start in which Barça have scored 33 goals and conceded just seven.

Now, Hansi Flick's team will be aiming to extend the record and maintain this extraordinary start to the season. Their next opportunity to do so will come on Saturday at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, away to Sevilla.
