Hansi Flick: 'Everyone is ready'
The first Champions League fixture of the season is almost upon us. Ahead of Barça's game against Feyenoord on Wednesday at Spotify Camp Nou, kick off 6.45pm CEST, coach Hansi Flick appeared before the press at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The blaugrana boss said "everyone is ready" for his team's debut in this season's competition.
"We dream about this"
On the challenge of winning a sixth Champions League title for FC Barcelona, Flick remarked: "All the big teams dream about it. It's the biggest competition there but we have to show we can win it - that is what we want to do."
Asked about his team's current form, the German was clear: "Everyone has the responsibility to give everything every day. If we do that, that's good for us. Our level is also that which we see in training and that helps us play our football. We have to carry that on every match day as it's important to fight together."
"Lamine Yamal can decide games"
Flick also touched on the form of Lamine Yamal and Anthony Gordon. On the Catalan winger he said: "He can decide games by himself. He loves getting better and you can see that every day. What he shows is that he loves playing football. If he does that then he is at his best."
On the new signing from England, Flick added: "As a forward you can see that he gets chances and he makes the final pass to create goals. He will score, that does not worry me. He's doing really well and I'm happy with him defensively and going forward - he's in good shape."
