That's 100 appearances for Andreas Christensen with FC Barcelona. The Danish centre back reached the round figure against Rayo Vallecano in front of the home fans at Spotify Camp Nou. 

The defender, as in the first game of the season at Elche, was included in the starting XI against Rayo and completed all 90 minutes of the 5-2 win for the blaugranes, putting in another solid performance alongside Pau Cubarsí at centre back. 

Andreas Christensen joined Barça in summer 2022. During the 22/23 season he made 32 appearances under Xavi Hernández and scored his first goal in the blaugrana jersey. The following season he had an even more prominent role, making 42 appearances, playing as both a central defender and a defensive midfielder.

Injury behind him 

Since Hansi Flick has been coach, the Dane has made 24 appearances across two seasons. Two long-term injuries kept Christensen out for a lot of games, but he is back and looking in good shape this season.

Christensen has won a lot of trophies with Barcelona, namely three LaLiga titles, a Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup. Furthermore, he was named player of the year for Denmark in 2023. Born in 1996 in Lillerød, Andreas Christensen extended his contract with FC Barcelona this summer until 2028.
