FC Barcelona returned to work on Monday after their excellent 5-2 win over FC Basel in Switzerland in a preseason friendly. Hansi Flick's squad carried out the first session of the week ahead of Wednesday's Fiesta del Gamper Estrella Damm against Al Ahly at Spotify Camp Nou, kick off 8.00pm CEST.

Coach Flick was able to count on all the available first team players as the squad carried out a session with recovery in mind after Sunday's game in the Sankt Jakob-Park stadium. 

As usual during preseason, the session also saw seven players from the Barça Atlètic and U19 squads also take part: Álvaro Cortés, Brian Fariñas, Ebrima Tunkara, Orian Goren, Jordi Pesquer, Hamza Abdelkarim and Eder Aller.

Next challenges: Al Ahly and Elche 

The squad will train again on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's game against Egyptian giants Al Ahly after which comes the start of official competition on Sunday when the blaugranes kick off the defence of their La Liga title away at Elche at 9.30pm CEST.
