2027 Spanish Super Cup to be played in Istanbul

Should Barça retain the Spanish Super Cup for a third consecutive time, the venue this time will be the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul (Turkey), with the first competitive tournament of the 2026/27 season set to take place from 2 to 7 February 2027.

Change of venue

The tournament had been played in Saudi Arabia in recent years, but the country was ruled out this year as the Asian Cup is being played there at the same time. The tournament will return there the following season.

This means FC Barcelona fans are set to travel to the Turkish city, where the first trophy of the season will be contested by the blaugranes and the Copa del Rey runners-up Atlético Madrid, the Copa del Rey winners Real Sociedad and the LaLiga runners-up Real Madrid.

Kick-off times and dates are yet to be confirmed. However, the routes to the final are known, with Barça set to take on Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad set to take on Real Madrid in the semifinals. 

A third consecutive Super Cup the aim

Barça are the current holders and twice in a row as it stands. Hansi Flick's side won the 2025 and 2026 editions after facing Athletic Club in the semifinal and Real Madrid in the final on both occasions. As such, a third win in a row is the aim, this time in Turkey.
