After the successful campuses in June and July that proved a real hit among the local community and families, Barça is set to open a Barça Academy in Tunis (Tunisia) in September. As such, Barça are going to open their 29th academy for boys and girls who want to learn the playing style and training system that has made Barça famous worldwide for themselves. 

The agreement to open the first academy in Tunisia was officially ratified at the Club’s offices by Barça Academy director Benny Megreli, Barça Academy sporting director Sergi Barjuan and Mr. Mohamed Ali Meddeb, who was representing the local partner. 

A strategic agreement

Barça will send a technical director to ensure the Barça methodology is implemented. This new addition means the Club now has 29 football academies worldwide: 11 in Asia-Pacific, 10 in the Americas and 8 in Europe and the Middle East.

This is a great opportunity for Barça, given the significant potential in the country and the real chance of developing a project that will help strengthen and bring structure to the local football ecosystem, as well as developing players using the Barça methodology and values. 

The Barça Academy project

Barça Academy is FC Barcelona’s proprietary football academy model for boys and girls, which has the main objective of providing comprehensive training for its students. Rolled out internationally, this football academy model aims to spread the Barça brand and convey the Club’s operating philosophy and values to the rest of the world. 

The academies operate using a proprietary, unique model based on the Barça methodology from youth levels through to the first team, implementing a creating and attacking playing style, and importantly conveying the values of respect, humility, effort, ambition and teamwork, with a track record of successful results.
