This Wednesday, the four World Cup players who had yet to join Barça's preseason preparations reported back for duty. Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsí and Pedri, fresh from being crowned world champions, have joined up with the team as preparations continue for the start of the 2026/27 season, and completed individual work.

Visit from Brooklyn Nets coach Jordi Fernández

They were not the only new faces at the Ciutat Esportiva, with one of the leading figures in Catalan sport paying a visit to the morning session. Badalona-born Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernández watched the session and spent some time exchanging views with Hansi Flick, coach to coach.

Double session

The first Catalan head coach in the history of the American basketball league closely followed a training session featuring all available first-team players, as well as a large contingent from Barça Atlètic and the U19s: Hamza Abdelkarim, Álvaro Cortés, Jordi Pesquer, Orian Goren, Ebrima Tunkara, Brian Fariñas, Xavi Espart, Jofre Torrents, Guillermo Fernández, Tommy Marqués, Toni Fernández and Yaakobishvili.

The players gathered again at 6pm for a second session shortly before getting the chance to enjoy watching the eclipse.

Another double session on Thursday

The team will return to the Ciutat Esportiva on Thursday for another day of double training sessions.
