Following the powerful earthquake that struck Colombia yesterday, the humanitarian situation in the most affected areas has worsened considerably. The earthquake, measuring 7.4 in magnitude and with its epicenter in the department of Chocó, Colombia’s poorest region and one that has been particularly affected for years by armed conflict, has caused hundreds of casualties, affected thousands of people, and resulted in severe damage to infrastructure, housing, and essential services. Emergency teams and humanitarian organizations are working intensively to rescue people trapped under debris and to provide temporary shelter, food, clean water, and medical assistance to affected communities.

FC Barcelona and its Foundation have launched an extraordinary fundraising campaign to respond to the humanitarian emergency affecting thousands of people in Colombia. As a demonstration of their commitment to protecting children and the most vulnerable families, the FC Barcelona Foundation will make an initial contribution of €100,000.

These resources will be used to strengthen the work of humanitarian organizations with which the Barça Foundation has an established partnership and which are operating on the ground, providing emergency assistance, child protection, access to clean water, food, healthcare, education, and support for displaced people.

In light of this situation, the FC Barcelona Foundation is calling on club members, supporters’ clubs, fans, companies, and the general public to join this solidarity initiative. The funds raised will be channeled through humanitarian organizations with proven experience, operational capacity, and a strong presence on the ground, ensuring that contributions reach those who need them most.

Solidarity Round-Up

To encourage participation from the entire Barça community, FC Barcelona has introduced a solidarity round-up mechanism at various points of sale within the Club’s facilities. People purchasing tickets for matches or for the Club Museum will be able to make a voluntary contribution by rounding up the purchase amount. All funds collected through this initiative will be allocated in full to support the humanitarian actions carried out by the beneficiary organizations of the emergency campaign for Colombia.
