A 'happy' Martina now officially a blaugrana
She's officially back home. The Spotify Camp Nou offices were the setting for Catalan defender Martina Fernández to sign her contract with Club. It was a very special day for a blaugrana who became one of the first female players to join La Masia in 2021.
FC president Joan Laporta, the director responsible for Women's Football Xavi Puig, and directors Àngel Riudalbàs and Xavier Barniol were all present for the start of this new chapter for the young FC Barcelona player. She had made first team appearances in the 2021/22 and 2023/24 seasons, but Martina is now set to be back with FC Barcelona until 2029.
"I've grown a lot as a player and a person. I can play in different positions in defence. I always give everything for the badge", explained the new blaugrana signing to the Club's media, with her ambition clearly evident as she expressed her thoughts.
"I'm happy to come back to my Club"
The La Masia player was with her family as she received her FC Barcelona member card and was clearly thrilled she posed for photos. Her smile grew even wider when she held up the blaugrana jersey for the 2026/27 season. Martina Fernández is back home, at "the best club in the world", and as the new blaugrana signing went on to say, she is "very, very happy".
