The Barça Foundation logo to appear on the back of the shirt for the first time in the opening match of the 2026-27 pre-season
On 31 July, FC Barcelona’s men's first football team will play its first match of the season in a friendly against Birmingham City FC. The occasion will also mark a special milestone for the Club and its social commitment, as it will be the first time that the men's first team wears the Barça Foundation logo on the back of its shirt. This initiative continues FC Barcelona’s longstanding commitment to using the power and visibility of sport to promote social causes and contribute to a better world.
The debut of the Barça Foundation logo on the field represents a new step in the Club’s determination to project its most genuine essence to the world: being “More than a Club”. From now on, the blaugrana shirt will also serve as a platform to showcase the work carried out by the Club through the Foundation to improve the lives of thousands of children, adolescents and young people in vulnerable situations, both in Catalonia and around the world.
This first match of the season will be much more than the start of a new sporting campaign; it will also be an opportunity to highlight the programmes and projects promoted by the FC Barcelona Foundation through sport, education and the promotion of values, harnessing the transformative power of sport to create opportunities, foster inclusion and strengthen social cohesion.
The presence of the Foundation’s logo on the back of the shirt reinforces a legacy of social commitment that has turned the FC Barcelona jersey into a unique platform for raising awareness of major global causes. First came UNICEF, then UNHCR, and in this new chapter, the Club is highlighting its own charitable and social work by placing the Barça Foundation at the centre of the story and sharing the impact of its initiatives with millions of fans around the world.
About the Barça Foundation
The Barça Foundation is the organisation that channels FC Barcelona’s social action. Through its own programmes and partnerships with leading organisations, it works to promote emotional well-being, social inclusion and equal opportunities for children and young people in vulnerable situations, using sport and its values as a tool for social transformation.
Through this initiative, the Barça Foundation gains a new platform for international visibility to continue sharing stories of resilience, hope and opportunity, and to demonstrate that values remain one of the fundamental pillars of the Club’s identity.
